Co-Founders and Executive Directors, Nicholle Walton-Durban and JoAnn Nolte, are passionate in their belief that every child is a genius, and that education in this country is in great need of reform.
With a deeply shared understanding that when children are given the option to learn in their own unique way and in their own time, these two moms continue to develop programs that speak to each and every learner.
They accomplish this mission through personalized learning plans and customizable programs in a project-based, learner-led, Socratic Co-Learning Community located in Round Rock, TX.
By removing arbitrary considerations like age or time as indicators of what a Learner should or should not be able to do, and instead, looking to the individual to customize their journey you can give the learner the tools they need to succeed in their own time!
This journey started in Round Rock with the opening of Learning Fun 101 and 4Reelz School of Film, which would evolve into E.S.T.E.A.M Academy and E.S.T.E.A.M Learning Labs.
21st Academy is the final stage of the founders’ vision. Once complete this State of the Art Co-Learning Community Campus will create opportunities not only for us to continue and serve our current community, but to reach even more. It will also allow us to continue and develop innovative learning programs and strategic partnerships with organizations that create a variety of paths for learners of all ages through our programs.
Future programs include a Teen Entrepreneur Academy, We Work / We Learn (co-working and learning space), and Apprenticeships and Trades Certification Training programs. Our outdoor learning spaces are designed to engage community development, connection, and engagement.
